Joseph Campbell once said, “Follow your bliss.” So what has emerged for me as I’ve followed that advice is this adventure called Global Spirit. Its mission, programs and values reflect my own passions, and I’m excited (maybe even in bliss!) about this new journey.
It’s interesting to look back and see how everything in my life has led me to this very place. I’ve taught high school English, been the school librarian, started a diversity program for teens, helped start a community theater, and organized tours around the world for a teen performing group. I’ve acted on stage, sung with groups, written articles.
I’ve facilitated workshops on peace, as well as several on personal and spiritual growth for adults, and put together tours in the past couple of years to Italy, New York City, and Oahu. I’ve travelled widely, but have been particularly influenced by mountaintop experiences in Central America. I’m a student of yoga and feel blessed to have a kinship and connection with several spiritual communities.
...All of which has led me to create this organization and website that focuses on celebrating the light within each of us -- and the power of that light to make a difference in our own and one another’s lives, whether it’s through yoga, the arts, literature, travel or service. Stay tuned for upcoming events and links and see what continues to emerge. Please contact me with your own thoughts as well.
